My affection for Jimmy Buffett’s “Biloxi” is likely tied to the memory of the moment that I discovered it 25 years ago.
It had been a hard day and it was way past my bedtime. Pennie was already asleep. Our house had a large glass sun room that was surrounded on 3 sides by the star-filled sky. I turned on some calm music and turned off the lights.
I was looking at the stars, listening to quiet music, and sipping good red wine when this song began to play. I was transported.
Don’t listen to it if you’re in a hurry. Its lazy, meandering pace will only frustrate you.
