Many of you have stayed on campus as the guests of Chris and Luba Lowry
(in the Lowry room of Engelbrecht House) during your time on campus.
This is the wall of the library floor that Chris and Luba are building.
Notice the arched Door of Gandalf that leads into the Groom Room
(built by John Groom,) a private study behind the bookcases.
Those bookcases will extend all the way to the ceiling when finished.
NOTE: The saws and the lumber, etc., are stacked on a temporary
plywood floor erected so the carpenters can finish the coffered ceiling.
The permanent portion of this library floor is a cantilevered catwalk that
extends 8 feet out from each of 3 walls and overlooks the lecture hall.
That wall to the left will hold the top of the projector screen.
This coffered ceiling will be 26 feet above the floor of
the lecture hall when the temporary floor is removed.
Giants, indeed.
