This painting is unusual in 2 significant ways:

1. The paint is laid on thicker and more deeply textured
than any other painting we have ever seen.

2: Don Quixote is reading Don Quixote, a scene which in
fact happens in the book. A prime example of metafiction;
that moment when a fictional character becomes aware
of their own fictional nature.

We are the place where you’re the most likely to die from this disease. We’re the ones with the most shattered economy. And we are because of the fool that sits in the Oval Office behind the Resolute Desk.”
