The Monday Morning Memo

Hi Roy,

A long time ago you told us three things about our business and they all came true.

 1. You told us to be careful not to create a half-baked version of ourselves by expanding.

 2. Jim personally needed to build the business in the new store or it wouldn’t work.

 3. In the future XXXXXXXX alone won’t make you successful.

On all three points you were 100 percent correct.

Anyways, Dad and I still get excited when think back on the “Construction Sale” we ran while we were building our Diamond Cutters Showroom. We think that doing a consolidation sale (or whatever we want to call it) could potentially generate the same sort of excitement and put us back on the right track again with diamonds if the message is right.

Our main goals are to raise capital and refocus our operation on dominating the diamond business and being the best one store independent in South Florida.   We want to have our flagship store and our internet business and that is it! This is something that we are looking to launch immediately and conclude around Mother’s Day.

I look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

All the best,

Random Quote:

“I had lost my name, my position, my happiness, my freedom, my wealth.  I was a prisoner and a pauper.  But I still had my children left.  Suddenly they were taken away from me by the law.  It was a blow so appalling that I did not know what to do, so I flung myself on my knees, and bowed my head, and wept, and said, ‘The body of a child is as the body of the Lord: I am not worthy of either.’  That moment seemed to save me.  I saw then that the only thing for me was to accept everything.  Since then—curious as it will no doubt sound—I have been happier.”
