The Monday Morning Memo

You’ve heard me say, “A smart man makes a mistake, learns from it, and never makes that mistake again. But a wise man finds a smart man and learns from him how to avoid that mistake altogether.”

But this tongue-in-cheek advice works only if there are smart men out there making mistakes and learning from them. But the making of mistakes requires that you have courage and initiative and these are fashionable only when our society is in a “Me” cycle.

“We” is about being a follower.

The most powerful leaders in a “We” are those people we call ‘first followers’ or ‘early adopters.’

If you normally skip the videos in the rabbit hole,
please don’t skip the one below. It makes a powerful point.

My son just walked into my room and said, ‘Daddy, I’m scared to die. Not of going to hell, I don’t think there is such a place, but I guess I’m scared there’s nothing. There was nothing before, so what if there’s nothing after?’

He’s 37 years old and on acid.
