While I was getting ready for bed, I remembered where I’d heard that line: Shakespeare put those words into the mouth of Falstaff in the second part of Henry IV. Kenneth Branagh borrowed it for a flashback in his 1989 masterpiece, Henry V (see below, another movie featuring Judy Dench.)
