The Monday Morning Memo

“It is immoral to get drunk because the headache comes
after the drinking, but if the headache came first and the
drunkenness afterwards, it would be moral to get drunk.”

– Samuel Butler
(1835-1902)

Brad Whittington,
father of Vice Chancellor Daniel Whittington,
has written a scholarly book on the subject of alcohol and Christianity.
A very interesting read. Extremely well documented. Seriously.
The paperback is $6.74 and the Kindle version is 99 cents.
Worth a look if the subject has ever been of interest to you.

Random Quote:

“This is BAD story structure:
This happened
THEN
this happened
THEN
this happened
THEN
this happened
THEN
this happened.

This is GOOD story structure:
This happened
THEREFORE
this happened
BUT
this happened
THEREFORE
this happened
THEREFORE
this happened
BUT
this happened.

See the difference?“
