Geoffrey Chaucer was born in 1343, we think, but no one knows the day
because babies are rarely famous. We are certain, however, that he died on October 25, 1400. We know this because Chaucer was awesome.

Geoffrey Chaucer wrote several books, among them the immortal
Canterbury Tales, which legitimized English during a time when
the dominant literary languages of Europe were French and Latin.
