The Monday Morning Memo

 

This song represents the edgier side of 1969.
The group, Shocking Blue, had a song (below) called 
“Venus” that was HUGE but I’ve never met anyone
who can name the girl that sang it.

TRUE TRIVIA: The band was Dutch, so they didn’t immediately realize their lead singer were mispronouncing the word “goddess” in the opening line of their big hit. Listen and you’ll hear “godness.” Interestingly, the girl openly admitted she had mispronounced the word. She didn’t try to pass it off as,
“Well, you just misheard it.” Her name, by the way, was Mariska Veres.
