And two of my major pet peeves lanced like boils.

One: the gutting of Disney.

The trickle-down of the Eisner mentality: back then, a friend of mine was working on movie sets in Hollywood. Whenever he worked on a Disney movie, and they took a truck of props and such back to Disney, the truck was met by an accountant. The accountant would stand there with a list of every single item that had gone onto the truck, and check off every single item that came off the truck. He said the accountant would literally count things like pencils.

“This truck left with 50 pencils. You’ve brought back only 17. Where are the rest of the pencils?”

“Dude, they’re PENCILS.”

Two: the gutting of Sears.

Jay Leno’s single best joke ever: the merger of Sears and K-Mart is like taking two drunks and tying them together in the hope they’ll walk straight.
