The Monday Morning Memo

We want to make 5 things perfectly clear:

1. We’re not trying to convince you to hire John Groom.
2. John isn’t compensating us in any way.
3. John has no idea that we’re even doing this.
4. We might have used a video for Jean Backus, but she’s on the board of directors of Wizard Academy and it would have looked like we were sucking up. We also might have used a video of Adrian Van Zelfden but he doesn’t have one. Maybe he should come to the online video workshop Aug. 20-21.
5. Our only goal is to give you a clear example of a financial type who does NOT have tight-ass tunnel-vision so that you can recognize other members of this rare tribe when you meet them. It’s kind of hard to believe they’re CPAs.

Random Quote:

“The comic part comes in my desire, for one thing, for the characters to connect with one another rather than to feel isolated from one another. And also in my pleasure in absurdity and in a good joke. I think a lot of things are hilariously funny, and that’s kind of the way I live my life. And I also believe that it’s only possible to live if you can detach yourself and detach your sort of sense of what’s going on a little bit and take a kind of observational position on everything. ‘Is my marriage breaking down?’ ‘Well, let me watch that.’ ‘Is the country falling apart?’ ‘Well, let’s observe it and see what we can learn from it.'”
