The Monday Morning Memo

“Dark and Brooding”
is what Princess Pennie said when she tasted it.

Sometimes I ask the Princess for a second opinion when I’m not entirely sure of my own. I never ask the wizard, though. He gets frustrated when you don’t agree with him.

The Princess echoed my own opinion word for word, like she was a mind reader or something.

Dark and brooding, yes, with very few instruments, and none of them playing high notes. Pull the cork on a bottle of this dark juice and the lights go dim, the neighbors pull down their blinds and the snake crawls back into his hole. It leaves you waiting for the Twilight Zone voice of Rod Serling, saying, “You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance…”

We don’t normally associate this kind of brooding darkness with Australia, but then I remembered the aboriginal Dreamtime.

I’m betting that dream stuff happened in the Barossa Valley. That’s where they grow the Malbec grapes for Tait Ballbuster.

Dreamtime. Dark and brooding dreamtime. Australian. Moody.
