Feminine… Alto… Rich harmony
with all the edges rounded.

Spanish_E_188This Orin Swift blend from Spain is made from Garnacha, Tempranillo, Monastrell and Cariñena grapes. The vines are all 60 to 100 years old.

It’s called Locations E-2 Spanish Red Blend.

Single vineyard wines are like original paintings. The artist’s effort either paid off or it didn’t. There is no forgiveness, no chance to make it better. But a blend is a like creating a piece of art in Photoshop; you can continue to mess with it until you get it just like you want it to be.

If you’re looking for good flavor for cheap, a blend is often the way to go.

Jeffrey Eisenberg sent us this. We like it. And of course I’m using the Royal “We” since I am the King of the Rabbit Hole and the Supreme Emperor of The Beagle’s Guide to Obscure Wines.

The music of this wine is Karen Carpenter singing Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down. If you want a really accurate taste of this wine, move the scroll bar in the video to 1:33 and listen to the subsequent 30 seconds. …That’s it. There you go.

Jeffrey and Mia heard slightly different music when they tasted this wine. They heard Daniel Lanois singing O Marie. “Both the wine and the song are controlled – tight – yet mellow. They have forward momentum like a march. The voice of each has a rich smooth-smokey darkness, but a bright top-note.”

Listen to both of the songs below and you’ll hear what they have in common. Then you’ll know whether or not this wine is for you.

And by the way, today – October 6 – Jeffrey is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his 21st birthday.

Random Quote:

“You see this handful of sand? Could you imagine counting every grain? Could you imagine how many grains of sand there are on this entire planet?

Our best estimate is if for every grain of sand here on earth, there are 10,000 stars in the universe.

It is probably more likely that we don’t really exist than to think that there isn’t other life out there somewhere, or was, or will be, or all of the above.

Now with that being said, your red hat looks stupid on you, but in the big scheme of things you barely exist.

(This is why I don’t get invited places.)”
