The Monday Morning Memo

WhittingtonSmile

Go ahead and start the MP3 before you continue reading.

Go to the Kickstarter page by clicking any of the images of musicians below.

FUN FACT: The brief noise you hear at the opening of the song and again at 3:20 isn’t brushes on symbols. It’s a rattlesnake. A real one.

35 seconds in, listen closely and you’ll hear a harmonica playing Neil Young’s Heart of Gold.
At 3:18 you’ll hear the guitar play Heart of Gold again, just as the song is ending.
Heart of Gold can be heard on and off throughout the song. Weird, huh?

This is only a rough cut. And the Wizard and Brittington are only in the earliest stages. This song will continue to be altered and twisted into a fast-paced series of delightful surprises that will appear and disappear throughout the song.

They haven’t even begun to add Third Gravitating Bodies.
And the song hasn’t yet been “mastered,” so the mixing isn’t quite right.
The finished production will be as good as what you hear on the radio. For real.
Has anyone ever merged Neil Young into the Bee Gees before? I doubt it.

This is only one of the 12 hits that will be reverse-engineered, deconstructed and reconstructed as if they CowboyLEGOwere made of LEGO pieces. Aside from the downloadable album and the epic, live concert, there will also be a fascinating 1-hour webcast explaining the different TRIZ principles and 3rd Gravitating Bodies that were used to turn each of the 12 selected hits into something profoundly more interesting than a mere “cover song.” Concert: Friday, April 3.  Webcast: Saturday morning, April 4

You can get in on this deal and run with the big dogs for as little as $50
or you can sit on the porch and yap-yap-yap like Granny’s Pekingese. It’s your call.

Here’s the link to the Kickstarter page if you want to run with the big dogs.

RadioHead2Even if you can’t come to the concert, the album and the 1-hour webcast are going to be amazing. I overheard the wizard ask Whittington whether the price should jump to $250 per person or $500 per person on January 7, when the Kickstarter funding drive closes.  Whittington’s answer made me swallow.

The event is in April. People are going to be talking about this for years.

Beatles2Three heroes have stepped up with $1,000 each.

Each will be an Associate Producer of the album.
You’ve got until January 6th to add your name to that list and enjoy lots of cool benefits, including a private meal with Whittington and the Wizard and the Princess at the delicious Cafe Malta the next time you’re in Austin. Just click the image of the Beatles, then select the $1,000 option on the Kickstarter page.

After you’ve done that, send an email to Daniel@WizardAcademy.org with the subject line, “I’m with Indy.”

When will you get a chance to do something like this again?

Indiana Beagle

The LEGO musicians were created by Adly Syairi Ramly of Malaysia. Pretty amazing, huh?
