The Monday Morning Memo

Indy’s Product Placement of the Week

Milne_Court

Scott Fraser is the owner of Milne Court, the most successful convenience store in North America.

It’s not just the total number of dollars he brings in that makes Scott #1.
It’s the number of dollars compared to the potential of the marketplace he’s in.

Check this out: The oil company from whom he buys his gasoline told Scott there was no possible way – based on population figures, traffic count, etc – that Milne Court could ever sell more than 3 million litres of fuel annually. Last year Scott sold more than 7 million litres.

But the only reason to sell gasoline is so you can sell the drivers of those cars some other stuff.
The average in-store purchase in North America is $2.79 per car.

The Milne Court average in 2014 was $13.71 per car.

Other interesting Stats:

The Milne Court Ambassador performed the following in 2014 for people who bought self-serve gas:

Car who had their tires checks by the ambassador:  48,672
Windshields washed by the ambassador: 54,324
Customers who were offered free services but declined: 63,981
Customers who allowed the ambassador to check their fluids: 4267

That’s just old-fashioned, 5-Star service delivered consistently and with style. But that’s not the magic.

No, that’s not the magic.

The magic is Milne Court’s fantastic, fresh-made deli sandwiches and made-from-scratch pastries that are baked fresh every morning.

What Bribe Did I Accept This Week?

1 dozen peanut butter cookies and
1 dozen Gram-ola bars delivered by Federal Express.  AWESOME.

If you’d like to be featured in the rabbit hole, send an email to Andrew@WizardofAds.com
with an explanation of your product or service and the specific details of the bribe you’re offering.

Heh, heh, heh.
