The Monday Morning Memo

RabbitHoleBanner_Goals_780

I thought Indy could use this for a Goal or a Frank Sent This…or well, just an FYI.

Most of the dogs used for animal testing are beagles because of their good-natured disposition; you know this to be true because you’re a pal of Indiana’s.

Beagle Freedom Project works to free the beagles (and other animals) from labs.  Without publicly condemning the labs or interfering with them in any way.  They just want healthy dogs to be freed and given good homes instead of being euthanized.

I’ve been a beagle-lover my whole life and a thought it was neat when Indy became the Wizard Academy’s mascot (spokes-beagle?)  I’m not affiliated with BFP, just admire the organization and try to buy stuff from their store to support them.

Anyhow, it occurred to me recently that maybe Indy should be made aware, if he isn’t already.

The oil painting up for auction is pretty nice and the story mentions a real saved beagle and his sister, which reminded me of Monday’s memo which mentioned Indy and HIS sister.

Chrissy Mifsud

Free-the-Beagle_bookChrissy,

The image of the oil painting didn’t arrive so I wasn’t able to see it but I’m sure it was magnifico.

My sister is named Intuition and the wizard wrote a book about her  in 2003. Free the Beagle sold in bookstores all over America and it was even translated into a bunch of foreign languages. It sold particularly well in Korea and Japan. Destinae is all three books in the Free the Beagle trilogy in a single volume.

In that trilogy of books, Sis travels with an uptight lawyer named Intellect and they learn a lot of life lessons.

Intuition is very quiet. In fact, she doesn’t speak at all.

Aroo.

Random Quote:

“Here is the best true story on giving I know, and it was told by Jack Kornfield of the Spirit Rock Meditation Center in Woodacre. An eight-year-old boy had a younger sister who was dying of leukemia, and he was told that without a blood transfusion she would die. His parents explained to him that his blood was probably compatible with hers, and if so, he could be the blood donor. They asked him if they could test his blood. He said sure. So they did and it was a good match. Then they asked if he would give his sister a pint of blood, that it could be her only chance of living. He said he would have to think about it overnight. The next day he went to his parents and said he was willing to donate the blood. So they took him to the hospital where he was put on a gurney beside his six-year-old sister. Both of them were hooked up to IVs. A nurse withdrew a pint of blood from the boy, which was then put in the girl’s IV. The boy lay on his gurney in silence while the blood dripped into his sister, until the doctor came over to see how he was doing. Then the boy opened his eyes and asked, ‘How soon until I start to die?’
