The Monday Morning Memo

Good morning Indy~
When I noticed a drawing of a windmill, curiosity about why windmills have four arms instead of three flashed across my mind… Then I thought that depending upon the orientation of the arms, this design may allow a hovering action (a spinning top) instead of merely capturing wind to propel a pump. Or maybe it’s a model for how ones mind spins, how one’s spirit moves and how one’s physical reality generates. (see my drawing) This design also reminds me of a clock face: Measuring stuff is kinda buggy ~ what if we didn’t have calendars or watches and clocks-there would be no reason to worry about deadlines (now THERE’s a lovely label),  aging/growing old (or I suppose growing up!), and the crackle of competition would shrivel… being first would not matter as much. Maybe that’s what “Be still and know” means-actively resting (hovering), knowing all is well in your deep insides, because, well that’s all there is~All is well…it’s timeless. I Am energy at rest and energy in motion.
Anyhoo.
InJoy, Indy~
in all ways,
always.
🙂

“

The original Michelin Man from 1894.

The Michelin Man is white because rubber tires are naturally white. It was not until 1912 that carbon chemicals were added, turning them black. The change was structural, not aesthetic. By adding carbon, tires became more durable.

Michelin began reviewing restaurants so that people would travel further distances to eat at these restaurants. This would wear their tires faster and Michelin would sell more tires.

Michelin uses a star system to inform drivers whether or not it’s worth driving to the restaurant.

One star: “A very good restaurant in its category.”

Two star: “Excellent cooking, worth a detour.”

Three star: “Exceptional cuisine, worth a special journey.”

It was never about the restaurants. It was always about the tires.”
