The Monday Morning Memo

Here’s What Happened

I could afford furniture that was poorly constructed, but what I wanted was ridiculously overpriced, very expensive, high quality designer furniture: a Ferrari for the price of a Ford.

My grandfather designed and manufactured the world’s finest furniture, but when he died, no one in my family wanted to run a furniture factory overseas, so they sold the company.

They tell me I look like him.

I couldn’t make peace with spending good money on bad furniture, so I got on an airplane, flew overseas, and found the factory that does what my grandfather used to do. After getting to know me, they let me buy ROVE* furniture direct from the factory.

I flew back to North America, created a membership program, and built this website so that you can get what I got: high quality designer furniture direct from the manufacturer.

Your membership will cost $200 a year, but it will save you countless thousands of dollars. You can browse the website for free, but when you’re ready to order, you’re going to pay me $200, okay?

My agreement with the manufacturer restricts me from listing the retailers who buy from them, or telling you the brand names under which this furniture is sold, but I am allowed to show you the “Compare At” prices those retailers are charging.

Happy Shopping,

Art Lee

*ROVE means Ridiculously Overpriced, Very Expensive.
But you don’t have to pay those prices, because you’re buying factory-direct!

“

… I soon heard that our sails were very bad, and were in danger of being torn in pieces, in which case we should be driven upon the rocky shore. It was very dark, and there was a heavy and incessant rain. The sparks of the burning peat flew so much about, that I dreaded the vessel might take fire. Then, as Coll was a sportman, and had powder on board, I figured that we might be blown up…. As I saw them all busy doing something, I asked Coll, with much earnestness, what I could do. He, with a happy readiness, put into my hand a rope, which was fixed to the top of one of the masts, and told me to hold it till he bade me pull. If I had considered the matter, I might have seen that this could not be of the least service; but his object was to keep me out of the way of those who were busy working the vessel, and at the same time to divert my fear, by employing me, and making me think that I was of use. Thus did I stand firm to my post, while the wind and rain beat upon me, always expecting a call to pull my rope….
