The Monday Morning Memo

Hypostasis (Hi POSS ta siss) is a technique in fiction writing in which characters become aware of their own fictional nature. Hypostasis is often marked by an exchange between the created and the creator. This short video is an excellent example of it.

The photo of the boy in prayer is an example of hypostasis:

Believers say the boy is created in the image of God.
Atheists say the boy creates God in his own image.

The Ends and the Means

Do the ends justify the means? Is it worth lowering your standards and giving up your principles in order to find a better outcome?

Many times, the means are the ends. How we choose to act changes who we choose to become.

The way we choose to get to where we’re going defines what it’s going to be like when we get there.
