The Monday Morning Memo

L.A. proved too much for the man.
So he’s leaving the life he’s come to know.
He said he’s going back to find
what’s left of his world,
The world he left behind
not so long ago.

He’s leaving
on that midnight train to Georgia.
Said he’s going back
to a simpler place and time.
And I’ll be with him
on that midnight train to Georgia.

I’d rather live in his world
than live without him in mine.
He kept dreaming
that someday he’d be a star.
But he sure found out the hard way
that dreams don’t always come true.

So he hung all his hopes
and he even sold his own car.
Bought a one way ticket back
to the life that he once knew.
Oh yes he did.
He said he would.

Random Quote:

“After examining my prayer life, I can only conclude that there seems to be little or no correlation between the spiritual and emotional intensity of my prayers and their effectiveness. In truth, the power of prayer rests not in the intensity with which we pray, but in the God to whom we pray.” – Richard Exley

Exley then followed his note with a bit of Bible; the words of Jesus in Matthew chapter 6:

“When you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
