The Monday Morning Memo

I’ve been trying to walk out of this picture
but BigHead is standing on my
hind foot.

I’m looking for the lions that populated Santiago’s dream
in the final lines of The Old Man and the Sea,
“Up the road, in his shack, the old man was sleeping again.
He was still sleeping on his face and the boy was sitting by
him watching him. The old man was dreaming about the lions.”

Lardbutt, here, is definitely
NOT one of Santiago’s lions.

Snap your fingers to get his attention.
Maybe it will cause him to
shift his weight and I can escape.

Random Quote:

“The harder you’re thrown, the higher you bounce; Be proud of your blackened eye! It isn’t the fact that you’re licked that counts; It’s how did you fight and why? Death comes with a crawl, or comes with a pounce,
And whether he’s slow or spry,
It isn’t that fact that you’re dead that counts,
But only how did you die?”
