The Monday Morning Memo

The truth of a statement
is not determined
by the sincerity of the speaker.

In the video below:
Mysterious music, a background of stars in the night and a man oozing sincerity.

He says, “What’s amazing is that – in the universe – everything does have a role. Everything has a certain creative mission to accomplish… and this would be one way to talk about authenticity.”

He then goes on to talk about how we can find “our authentic role.”
Seconds later we’re promised that “a community of life will blossom forth.”

I hope you’ll forgive me, but I’m not buying it.

You may have been told that God, or the Universe, has “a perfect plan for your life,” but there is no evidence of this in any of the ancient scriptures. Read them and you’ll find we were given an astonishing gift: Choice. We choose how we will spend each moment and we live with the consequences of our choices.

Choices. Consequences. Reality.

Talk is cheap and dreams are free but actions come at a cost.
Now what are you going to do?

“1978: Willie Nelson releases, “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies (Grow Up To Be Cowboys)”

1996: (literally 18 years later) Paula Cole releases, “Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?”

Coincidence? I don’t think so.”
