The Monday Morning Memo

Remember those 9 apprentices who signed up for an intensive 7-week ad writing course? We’re not yet done writing and editing all the ads we owe, but responses are already starting to come in.

Hi Roy:

Below is an e-mail I received today from TOPS. I must admit, I’m pretty jazzed.

Thanks again for an amazing experience that I am not going to waste. Hope to see you in Austin soon.

Hi Bill,

I thought I’d share with you our final layout of the ad you created for TOPS. Our Headquarters Director shared this ad with our U.S. and Canadian Field Staff just this morning and we’ve already received a very positive response! Our Field Staff are THRILLED with this ad. They plan on sharing it with their local chapters and posting it all over their communities to help spread the word.

Thank you again!

Maggie

These little posters will soon be thumbtacked on bulletin boards all across North America. The idea was 100 percent Bill Dunlap’s. I just tightened and refined it a bit. If you’re one of the 18 companies we still owe an ad, please know we’re working on it and you’ll hear from us soon. – RHW

“Lenin was literate, Stalin was literate, so was Hitler; as for Mao Zedong, he even wrote verse. What all these men had in common, though, was that their hit list was longer than their reading list.”
