The Monday Morning Memo

Whoa.

I’m the world’s best at getting in trouble with Wizzo
and even I knew better than to get in his face
on a topic where he hadn’t asked my opinion.

A lot of people think they’re being helpful when they
offer unsolicited advice, but I once heard Wizzo tell someone
that he considered “constructive criticism” to be an unwelcome
invasion of privacy, “much akin to a Jehovah’s Witness knocking
at my door on a Saturday morning.”

I remember exactly what he said because
I thought it was weird he used the word “akin.”
Seriously, who says “akin?”

The BeagleSword was Unzipped
and the rabbit hole was a look
into alternate realities.

This week, for reasons
beyond my comprehension,
the wizard read a few of the emails
that come into his office each week.

The email on the next page is from a minister
that Wizzo met once and considers a friend.
It made him very sad.

I’m thinking it may be awhile
before Wizzo reads any more emails.

Random Quote:

“War is awful. Nothing, not the valor with which it is fought nor the nobility of the cause it serves, can glorify war. War is wretched beyond description and only a fool or a fraud could sentimentalize its cruel reality. Whatever is won in war, it is loss the veteran remembers.”

- John McCain
