The Monday Morning Memo

This is Roy’s mom with Benita, the adored wife for whom the play was written. Becky’s New Car has been performed in dozens of playhouses across America during the past 3 years and the Staadeckers have attended the opening night of each new performance by each new cast in each new city.

Wizzo thinks the Staadecker’s might be Wizard Academy’s
brand of crazy; whimsical, creative, committed, and utterly
prepared to follow through on an unprecedented idea.

Screenwriter Steven Dietz insists his benefactors the Staadeckers “put no restrictions on me in terms of the writing. But they have become very enmeshed in the production, coming to rehearsals and watching over the project. And really, I’ve just loved having them around.”
