The Monday Morning Memo

“Mistakes are the
  portals of discovery.”
        – James Joyce

“I made a mistake today. (Friday, Oct. 21.) I was moving my cursor across the page when I accidentally opened a link that I never realized was there.
It appears that in the nav panel on the right hand side of the page at MondayMorningMemo.com is a link to an iTunes podcast because I suddenly found myself there for the first time in my life. Heck! It’s evidently been there since December, 2005. I wonder how many people subscribe to it. Maybe Dave or Barry will know. I should probably ask one of them.” – Roy H. Williams

Random Quote:

“Glenn from Calgary asked me to name the Top Five Qualities of an Advertising Consultant. This is what I told him:

1. Ability to write good ads.

2. Knowledge of how to differentiate a business from its category. You must make your client’s business distinctive and memorable.

3. Honesty. Willingness to accept responsibility for failure of an ad campaign.

4. Courage to say what needs to be said.

5. Wisdom to know that good advertising will not fix a broken business.
