The Monday Morning Memo

The BeagleSword was popping up like a prairie dog

and the rabbit hole was a stroll around the campus.

I’ve always called them plaques, but our friend Chad Prosser
was the director of Parks, Recreation and Tourism for the state of
South Carolina for many years and he says they’re technically known
as “waysides.” Anyway, this is one of my campus favorites. It’s located
on the portal connecting Steve Rae Plaza “Where Music Fills the Air”
to the pathway that passes Chapel Dulcinea. To enter that chapel,
you have to step out over the edge of the cliff:

“Leap, and the net will appear.”

Random Quote:

“He [Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan] was headed to do an onstage interview with Jonah Goldberg on the subject of political leadership in ‘an age of tribalism and identity politics,’ a topic that Ryan says he has given a great deal of thought to. To Ryan’s mind, tribalism and identity politics are twin scourges that contributed to the environment that exists today. ‘Donald Trump didn’t give us all this,’ Ryan told me. ‘Donald Trump is showing us what it looks like.'”
