The Monday Morning Memo

Structured by Wizard of Ads partner Cedric Yau, this is the Judgment Criteria AI was using.

Len Clark is the Winner of our AI-Prompting Contest and will receive $1,000.

AI gave Len’s ad a score of 633.* Len is a media consultant with a Ph.D. (I have to admit I got a chuckle out of the final line of his prompt. – RHW)

This was Len Clark’s AI Prompt: Write a 60-sec. radio ad to sell this diamond pendant for Valentine’s Day. Sterling silver with two small diamonds just $99! Chain included, in the style of Roy Williams, the wizard of ads. The ad should be emotional, memorable, and different from anything ai can generate.

[Soft romantic music playing in the background, a gentle heartbeat subtly woven in]

ANNOUNCER (Warm, inviting tone):

You walk into the room. She looks up, her eyes meeting yours. In that moment, you realize—you’d give the world just to see her smile.

This Valentine’s Day, don’t settle for just saying “I love you.” Show her.

A diamond pendant—delicate sterling silver cradling not one, but two brilliant diamonds.

Two. Because love isn’t just one-sided. It’s the way her laughter lights up your soul. The way you hold each other in quiet moments that feel infinite.

And here’s the part that makes you smile—it’s just $99.

Yes, $99. With the chain included because love shouldn’t come with strings attached.

Picture her opening that little box. Picture her smile. That’s the moment she’ll never forget—and neither will you.

This Valentine’s Day, give her more than a gift. Give her a story. A memory. A piece of your heart she can hold close to hers.

[Music swells slightly]

Visit us today and make this Valentine’s Day unforgettable.

[Music fades out with soft chime]

TAGLINE (with emphasis): Because love deserves a little sparkle.

  • The only AI-written ad that received a higher score was sent in by Aaron Kleinmeyer, but I disqualified that ad because Aaron is a Wizard of Ads partner and has had advanced training in ad writing. This is why his prompts were very different than all the other contestants. But even so, Aaron’s AI-written ad wasn’t nearly as good as the ads Aaron writes with his human brain. – Indy Beagle
