The Monday Morning Memo

I Did Not Make It Up.

“Alice met Peter Llewelyn-Davies at the Bumpus Bookshop in London
on June 26, 1932, as documented in Colin Gordon’s book,
Beyond the Looking Glass (Hodder and Stoughon, 1982), page 243.
The Bumpus event was Britain’s answer to America’s 1932 centenary
celebrations of the birth of Lewis Carroll. Alice opened the centenary
at the Bookshop on that date with Peter by her side.”

Mark Burstein
President
The Lewis Carroll Society of North America
