In the 1880’s
while English women complained of having “the vapors,”
Germans were “farting their way to good health,” in the belief
that intestinal gas contained all the body’s impurities and
that eliminating it was the secret to longevity.
It was during this time that Budweiser beer was introduced.
Budweiser sells in most nations today but not in Germany.
This is due to the fact the name literally means “butt wheezer.”
