The Monday Morning Memo

This is Batey Lord, the wife and partner of Cognoscenti Bert Lord, Wizard Academy’s Ambassador-at-Large. Bert could be anywhere at any time. It’s a long story. And it involves Bert receiving the highest level of military clearance, a level given only to a microscopically small number of America’s military men and very few members of congress. I swear I’m not making this up.

Bert met Batey in one of the ginger countries of Asia. They fell in love and got married. You know Wizzo is always prowling around auction houses, right? Anyway, when he saw this 100 year-old sign he had to buy it for Batey and Bert. Porcelain on steel, chipped, dented, heavy, rare.

He’s never seen another sign like it and neither has anyone else. Bert took this picture of it hanging in their home. Cool, huh?
