The Monday Morning Memo

“Les enfants sur la plage,” oil on board, 23 1/2 x 29 in.
by CHRISTIAN BERARD (1902-1949, below)
PROVENANCE: Copley Galleries; Edward James; Sale: Christie’s, London,
June 5, 1986, lot 1606; Acquired at the sale by Paul Walter.

Translated, the name of the painting means “Children on the Beach.”
Heck, I thought it was a desert. Is Berard playing us with that name or is it really a beach? Let Kristin@WizardAcademy.org know your thoughts.

“An artist is not paid for his labor but for his vision.“
– James McNeill Whistler
