“What life and death may be to a turkey is not my business; but the soul of Scrooge and the body of Cratchit are my business.”
– G.K. Chesterton, “Christmas,”
All Things Considered
Yours Truly, Indiana Beagle, did get himself some most excellent turkey last Thursday as he discussed the meaning of Christmas with Norman Rockwell.
You see Norm, don’t you, looking at you from the bottom-right corner of the illustration?
This is one of the few illustrations into which Norman inserted himself. I cheerfully stroll into this illustration once a year to see how things are going for him. Beagles can do that you know.
People mistakenly call it time travel but it’s more than that. To travel in time would mean that you could move in the fourth dimension – time – but would be limited to your original position in the first three- height, width and depth. What I do is travel in the fifth dimension, allowing me instant access to all places at all times
It’s awesome. You should try it with the beagle in your own brain. All it takes is an illustration, a painting, or photograph and SHAZAM, you’re there. – Indy
PS – I’ve asked my main man, Neil DeGrasse Tyson, to explain this whole 5th Dimension thing to you. Word.
