One last thing about my ability to walk into paintings and photographs to experience that place and time:
I can’t do it with films or videos. Moving pictures capture an element of the 4th dimension – Time – which prohibits me from bringing my own special type of Time into the scene. (If you must know, humans live primarily in horizontal Time. Beagles know how to enter vertical Time, but only through scenes that carry no horizontal time within them.) You can read all about this in Destinae, the hardback Free the Beagle trilogy of the wizard.
Here’s the best explanation:
One can think of ordinary, real, time as a horizontal line. On the left, one has the past, and on the right, the future. But there’s another kind of time in the vertical direction. This is called imaginary time, because it is not the kind of time we normally experience. But in a sense, it is just as real as what we call real time.”
