The Monday Morning Memo

These friends are my Korean beagle team at TheNanbiz, our Korean publisher.

When Americans, Canadians, Australians or visitors from England ask me about the beagle, I'm always surprised.

Generally speaking, people in the western hemisphere didn't care for the multiple layers of meaning woven into the story of the beagle Intuition and the lawyer Intellect on their journey together to Destinae.

People in the East, however, understood the story perfectly.
Free the Beagle, the first book in the Destinae trilogy, was a much greater success in China, Japan and Korea than it was in the U.S.

I've always believed the Destinae trilogy to be my best work.
Sadly, speakers of English seem not to agree.

But there is one quite obvious anomaly that no one – Western or Eastern – has ever noticed.

Why is the beagle on the inside flap of Destinae a male when Intuition, the beagle of the story, is clearly identified as a female?
