The Monday Morning Memo

I don’t often order white wine,
but the wizard and I were eating fish in a fancy Vancouver restaurant so it felt like the thing to do. And when you see something called Dog Point on the wine list, you kind of have to order that, don’t you?

I can’t say I heard just one song
when I sipped this wine, but it gave me exactly the same vibe as a Pandora channel called “Yacht Rock.”

So here’s what I’m going to do; I’m going to turn on that channel right now and post whatever “Yacht Rock” songs play at the bottom of the next few pages.
Then you’ll understand the vibe of
Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc.

When I Googled ‘Dog Point’,
it all started to make sense.
I think it will make sense to you, too, when you listen to the next few pages.
Here’s my suggestion: when you visit each page, begin by clicking the video at the bottom of the page, then look at the photo and read the jabber while the song plays. Yacht rock, Baby.

Random Quote:

“The thing that I’ve been doing is creating a stimuli that I can react to, so that I could avoid the situation of sitting alone in a room with a guitar and making up a certain kind of song. So the reason that I’m able to change song forms and find interesting ways to write that I wouldn’t normally think of, is because I’m reacting to something that I didn’t think of. Whereas if I sit and just play the guitar, it’s not the same kind of creative irritation… What’s appealing is to disturb your comfort. Once you get used to something, it’s a good idea, I think, to disturb that.”
