The Monday Morning Memo

Beagle_Portugal_Douro_CI’m giving you a BeaglesGuide Bonus this week because Jeffrey and Mia brought over TWO bottles of obscure wine, not just one.

The music of this wine seems to be all Celtic Woman softness but I can’t be certain because we didn’t taste it until after we had awakened the Sagrantino, that brooding Spanish monster of 250 acres. (Is it just me, or does Portugal relate to Spain in much the same way that Celtic Wales relates to England? “A mountainous region to the west with its own beautiful language…”)

Quinta dos Murças boasts a manor house that was built on the Douro river in Portugal in 1714, along with related buildings that stretch along the riverfront for more than three kilometres.

Random Quote:

“One of my greatest failings as an ad man is that I am not terribly creative. So how do I win tough political races with unclever ads? Simple:
(1.) I talk about what people care about.
(2.) I talk about it in the context of the voter, not the candidate.
(3.) I never allow an ad to be over the top.
(4.) I never make claims – even if they are true – that cause the voter to think it defies common sense.”
