When the Beatles
invaded America in 1964,
72 percent of us over the
age of 18 were married.
That number has fallen to barely 51 percent today.
Even more dramatic
is the decline of marriage
among adults 25 to 39,
having fallen from 81 percent
in 1970 to just
51 percent in 2010.
Extrapolation of this trend
would suggest that less than half
our 25 to 39 year-old population is married today.
