The Monday Morning Memo

From the
“I Swear I'm Not Making This Up”
Department

free executive office chair (downtown austin)

Black leather-like office chair free if you want to pick it up. It's at the Regency Apartments behind the dumpster on Nueces between 10th and 11th Street.

It's rickety, it had boogers all over the bottom of it (we tore the fabric off, but the memory will haunt us forever), and I foolishly bought it for $20 from a thrift store.

That being said, it's a big executive office chair, and it's been thoroughly cleaned. It might be leather, it might be faux, not sure. I got rid of it because once my boyfriend and I went through the ordeal of stripping it of its boogery underside and cleaning it with heavy duty oven cleaner, I just didn't think I could sit on it every single day.

Good luck.

Random Quote:

“It was a strange and frightening night, and no one knew why. The water was glassy again and the deck soaked with humidity. We had a curious feeling that a stranger was aboard, some presence not seen but felt, a dark-cloaked person who was with us. We were all nervous and irritable and frightened, but we could not find what frightened us… In the night, one of us had a nightmare and shouted for help and the rest of us were sleepless. In the darkness of the early morning, only two of us got up. We dressed quietly and got our breakfast.”

- John Steinbeck, Sea of Cortez, p. 252 - 253, (1941)
