Subject: 3 Days with the Wizard
Roy,
I’ve attached the photo with your glitter puppies on and a link to the first of 3 articles I’m writing about my experience at WA.
You say you don’t like warm fuzzies… so that’s exactly what I’ll do to get you out of your comfort zone. You dubbed me a genius in front of the class so I owe you one.
Thank you for making this last week a(nother) transformational experience. You gave me your first Magical Worlds book in 2001 – the first of many Wizard of Ads books and set me on a journey of business consulting and writing; a passion that has grown into an agency with over 40 staff in two Canadian offices. I attend – many – seminars and workshops by great speakers and between you and Dr. Grant: I’m ruined for the ordinary. I can’t get ZZ Top out of my head.
And if you really do get up at 2am, I may be your first email of the day! I just got back from playing ice hockey – ah, good to be back in Cowtown.
I made an attempt at surprising Broca.
Here is the https://goo.gl/m9x7fd first of 3 blogs about my experience at Wizard. It’s not about anyone reading it; I love writing and use my personal blog as a journal of experiences that I relate back to for inspiration.
If you read it, I’d be honoured to receive some feedback.
I will be back to WA.

Random Quote:

“Sofia rose from the table to give her father a kiss on the cheek. Then returning to her chair, she leaned back, squinted, and said: “Famous threesomes.”

“Ha-ha!” exclaimed the count.

Thus, as the candles were consumed by their flames and the bottle of Margaux was drunk to its lees, reference was made to the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; Purgatory, Heaven, and Hell; the three rings of Moscow; the three Magi; the three Fates; the Three Musketeers; the gray ladies from Macbeth; the riddle of the Sphinx; the heads of Cerberus; the Pythagorean theorem; forks, spoons, and knives; reading, writing, and arithmetic; faith, hope, and love (with the greatest of these being love).

“Past, present, future.”
“Beginning, middle, end.”
“Morning, noon, and night.”
“The sun, the moon, the stars.”

And with this particular category, perhaps the game could have gone on all night long, but for the fact that the Count tipped over his own king with a bow of the head when Sofia said:

“Andrey, Emile, and Alexander.”
