The Monday Morning Memo

“I don’t know if this is healthy or not.”
– JP Engelbrecht

“I’m with you. It is certainly one of the unintended consequences of today’s onscreen world, but is it healthy? I’m not sure. The idea of ‘unlimited possibilities’ in dating could cause a person to forever believe ‘there is someone better out there,’ resulting in forever being dissatisfied. I’ve been amazed at the number of young people I’ve met who are adamant that they are ‘not going to settle’ for a partner who isn’t perfect.”

Random Quote:

“Everybody has that thing where they need to look one way but they come out looking another way. And that's what people observe. You see somebody on the street and, essentially, what you notice about them is the flaw. It's just extraordinary that we should have been given these peculiarities and, not content with what we were given, we create a whole other set.”

- photographer Diane Arbus, teaching a class on photography in 1970, captured on audiotape by Japanese photographer Ikko Narahara.
