“The marvels of daily life are so exciting; no movie director
can arrange the unexpected that you find in the street.”
— Robert Doisneau
This short series of unposed photos was taken by French photographer
Robert Doisneau (dwah-NO.) Google celebrated what would have been his 100th birthday on April 14 by crafting their homepage logo entirely from photographs he left behind. Doisneau strikes me as a more cheerful, less gritty Robert Frank. He uses Frameline Magnetism less often than Frank and his shot angles are a little more predictable, but his photos capture that same candid feeling, don’t you think?
