The Monday Morning Memo

Don’s Very Bad Week

A note to the wizard from his close friend
in Carson City, Nevada

The gods have been screwing me over recently. I think they are paying me back for my previous questionable behavior.

We have 3 feet of snow on our property, 5-foot drifts. Cold weather makes it all white cement.

I prepped for my first CONNECTIONS group to bring art and love to Carson City. 10 minutes before showtime a major water line break closes the Nashville Social Club. 50 invited guests come to a closed-up site.

My left side is giving me pain and lack of mobility again.

My greatest dog – Nigel J Wiggins – has a hip going out. Loves me on three legs.

My best buddy in Carson died last week at 59.

I still grieve the loss of my sister Connie who is now an Angel but can’t make fun of me anymore.

Sherry is doing great, which is starting to piss me off.

I made a snowman, “Clyde.” My dog Sammy Watt-What stole both his arms and buried them in a secret place. Clyde’s left eye fell out. His mouth turned sideways. I still love him.

I ate bad fish. I threw up.

Twice.

All else sucks

Random Quote:

“Literary types may remember that 'riverrun' is the first and last word in James Joyce's Ulysses. His intention was to suggest that life is non-linear. You can start anywhere and head out to anywhere else and end up back where you started, the proud participant in a coherent adventure.”
