This is a famous photo of JP Engelbrecht standing next to the painting that hangs in the lobby of his office in Evansville, Indiana. JP’s Dad, John, bought the painting on a whim during an outing in New Orleans. John is also on the board of directors at the Evansville Art Museum where an authentic Picasso worth as much as one hundred million dollars was recently found in a storage closet where it had been mislabeled as having been merely “inspired by Picasso” 50 years ago. Consequently, it was judged at that time to be worth only a few hundred dollars.
The total endowment of the museum is only 6 million. Imagine what they can do with 100 million. The banner below currently appears on the TIME magazine newsfeed. Click it to read the whole story, or click JP’s monkey to see the correspondence between JP and the wizard on this matter.
