About a third of the way through, intuition told me this was a long one. The Beagle is rarely wrong. At about page 69 or 70, the Elbert Hubbard quote cinched it… this burrow was about the meaning of life. Today is a holiday in Canada, as we celebrate Queen Victoria’s birthday. No Monarch has left more of a mark on our Country than Victoria. Crowned at 18, she was 20 when she married her cousin Albert. Together they had nine children. She deeply loved Albert, and when he died, she went into a prolonged period of mourning, secluding herself for about a decade. When depression lifted, she continued to mourn Albert by wearing black for the rest of her life. She reigned for almost 64-years and died in 1901. I think Queen Victoria would have been touched by today’s rabbit hole.
