Monday Morning Memo

TomGrimes_EngelbrechtHouseOn Fri, Sep 19, 2014 at 4:57 PM, Tom Grimes, President Plenipotentiary of the Worldwide Worthless Bastards wrote:

Your sacrifice is noted sir … but you come from brave Remember-the-Alamo stock and are a known seeker of truthier truth … the real question underneath this is … what is the appropriate occasion to slam that $80 piece of leaded crystalware in the fireplace and what is the appropriate toast … my wife said it’s a once-in-my-short-whatever-is-left-of-my-lifetime experience and something about my ass becoming toast … not sure what she meant by that. More research required. (And i only extend my pinkie when drinking warm French beer left-handed). May your weekend be filled with good music, fine spirits and a warm woman to snuggle with … and may she also be your wife.

Random Quote:

“I had lost my name, my position, my happiness, my freedom, my wealth.  I was a prisoner and a pauper.  But I still had my children left.  Suddenly they were taken away from me by the law.  It was a blow so appalling that I did not know what to do, so I flung myself on my knees, and bowed my head, and wept, and said, ‘The body of a child is as the body of the Lord: I am not worthy of either.’  That moment seemed to save me.  I saw then that the only thing for me was to accept everything.  Since then—curious as it will no doubt sound—I have been happier.”
