When the Wizard finished his term on the board of directors,
he nominated Jean Backus to fill his vacancy since she lives in the neighborhood
and has worked tirelessly to promote the Academy for the past 2 years.
Here's Jean's email to Pennie Williams after she read the letter the Wiz had written:
From: Jean Backus
Date: December 19, 2009 8:21:05 AM CST
To: Pennie Williams
Subject: Neighborhood Meeting
Just a thought….this will go no further unless u think it might have some merit: How about opening Tuscan Hall for an event to start the New Year off on the right neighborly foot?
Andrew and I were talking about the Pendulum presentation and cycles of idealist (it's all about me) vs civic (let's help each other). Seems appropriate since we are in the civic cycle.
Maybe combine it with a meal?
Andrew and I would pick up the tab and work to get the word out.
Just FYI Andrew and I leave for Antarctica on 1/28/10.

We just found this video while wandering around on Youtube. Matt and Allie are the people for whom Chapel Dulcinea was built. Everyone should have a beautiful place for their wedding, don't you think? On behalf of Matt and Allie, THANK YOU to everyone who helps to keep the chapel open and free. We're currently hosting more than 600 weddings per year.
