The Monday Morning Memo

Wow. Bruce's book, Bo's Cafe, not only got published but is being inventoried by Wal-Mart.

Writing a book is hard.
Getting it published is a miracle.
Achieving distribution is The Impossible Dream
but our man Bruce got it done.

Perhaps we can get Bruce to tell us the secrets of his success at the Wizard Academy Writers Conference May 19-20. (I haven't invited Bruce yet, but I will. Bruce are you reading this?)

By the way, The Full Plate Diet, written by a trio of Wizard Academy alumni, moved up to Number 4 on the New York Times bestsellers list last week.  And because it's a bestseller, Amazon has it discounted from $20 all the way down to $10.97. Aroooooo!

Random Quote:

“I never meant this book to go this way. I was supposed to spend a few chapters getting Ender from Eros to Shakespeare and on to Ganges. But I found that all the real story setting up the confrontation on Ganges took place earlier, and to my own consternation, I ended up with a novel which mostly takes place between chapters 14 and 15 of Ender's Game.“

- Orson Scott Card, the opening lines of the Afterword following Ender in Exile. (This is a good example of how fictional characters seem to make decisions independent of the designs of the author - Roy H. Williams)
