During Mr. Seymour’s life of 96 years, he crossed paths with old people who were alive during the presidency of George Washington and with young people who would live through the Barack Obama presidency.
And he was in Ford’s Theater when Abraham Lincoln was shot.
At the beginning of this 1956 TV game show clip, we’re told that Mr. Seymour fell in his hotel while preparing to go on the show. He died 2 months later of complications caused by those same injuries… on the 91st anniversary of the assassination he witnessed in Ford’s Theater.
