The Monday Morning Memo

There’s a lot of people that teach pride was the first sin committed by the devil but I don’t think that’s true. I think the first sin was selfishness. And we’re all selfish at some level. And I think that pride is nothing more than the defense of our selfishness. When we defend our own selfish thoughts and self-centeredness and selfish ideas, that’s what pride is. It’s the defense of our self. We get ourselves into trouble when we become prideful and try to defend our ‘self.’
